Cabinet Quality Supervisor

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Quality Supervisor is to supervise, and train the Quality lead(s), auditor(s), and inspector(s) to ensure that all material used in the manufacturing process, sub-assemblies produced in manufacturing and received from a supplier(s), and the final product meets or exceeds the Wisenbaker Builder Services standard. High attention to detail and process improvement driven are two key points for this role.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Quality lead(s), inspector(s), and auditor(s) to ensure the Quality resources are allocated and used in the most efficient way to ensure the quality of the material, work in process and finish good meet or exceeds the Wisenbaker Builder Services specification and standards.
  • Ensure all Quality personnel have the tools and material to perform their job functions.
  • Ensure that all departments have the necessary support from Quality as required.
  • Communicate with the multiple departments throughout the manufacturing facility when quality issues arise to resolve as soon as possible.
  • Issue Quality alerts when quality issues arise and need to be communicated to the production floor to ensure the non-conformance material/product does not ship to a customer.
  • Train the multiple departments on the quality standards for raw material, work in process, and final product.
  • Train and audit that the control plans are issued and performed by the required departments in manufacturing.
  • Perform color approvals for the paint department.
  • Maintain and ensure the color match process quality section is performed as needed so as not to delay the process/lead time.
  • Update all standards for color.
  • Suggest and provide go/go-no gauges to the various departments as needed.
  • Assist the Quality manager perform root cause analysis as needed.
  • Train current/new lead(s), inspector(s) and auditor(s) on how to perform quality audits/inspections in the manufacturing facility on material, sub-assemblies, and the finish product.
  • Train quality personnel on how read and interpret the specifications and inspect to the specifications.
  • Understand how to calculate a sample size using the ANSI Sampling Plan Guide.
  • Communicate non-conformance findings to the necessary departments to ensure material/product is repaired or replaced.
  • Inspect special made (TLC) to order items.
  • Train quality personnel on the equipment and tools used by the quality department.
  • Maintain the multiple standards and tools used in the quality department.
  • Communicate cost saving ideas to the QA Manager.
  • Other responsibilities/tasks may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications & Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education – read and write in English.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 3 - 5 years of quality experience in a cabinet manufacturing facility.
  • Able to multitask in an ever-changing work environment.
  • Microsoft excel, word, power point and outlook.
  • Able to see color.
  • Can communicate with personnel at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years as a quality lead or supervisor in a cabinet mfg. facility.
  • English/Spanish speaking.
  • High School Diploma
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft email, excel, power point and word.
  • Able to see color.
  • Able to multitask in an ever-changing work environment.
  • Can communicate, coach and encourage personnel .
