Job Purpose

Feel like your purchasing role is more about fire-fighting than driving results? Step up and own the strategy that drives success.

You’re constantly chasing orders, putting out supplier fires, and fixing what should’ve been planned right the first time. Sound familiar? At Wisenbaker, we believe purchasing should be proactive, strategic, and empowering—not exhausting.

Your Mission:

You’ll cut waste, crush costs, and keep our supply chain so tight it squeaks. We don’t need a paper-pusher—we need a pricing pitbull. You’ll hunt down the best deals, tame flaky vendors, and turn inventory like it’s on a rotisserie. Aging inventory? Dead stock? Not on your watch. If it's overpriced, underperforming, or just plain in the way—you’ll sniff it out and shut it down.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Build supplier loyalty with backbone—strong ties, tough standards, and zero tolerance for mediocrity.
  • Aging inventory? Dead stock? Not on your watch. If it's overpriced, underperforming, or just plain in the way—you’ll sniff it out and shut it down.
  • Hunt for value, not fluff—source, vet, and negotiate like a pro to get top-tier materials without top-tier costs.

Qualifications & Required Skills

What We're Looking For:

  • Been there, done that: You’ve worked in purchasing, you get the grind, and you know how to move fast without breaking things.

  • Brains + tech: You can read the fine print, write clean reports, and bend Excel to your will.

  • Talk it, write it, win it: Whether it’s emails, negotiations, or team huddles—you communicate like a pro and close like a closer.

  • No hand-holding needed: You’re a self-starting, problem-solving team player who knows how to push through disagreement and still get it done.
